Plumber & Roofer in Oxenford

Oxenford is a mixed suburb, and the work reflects that. There are long established homes with concrete or terracotta tile roofs that have been through a couple of decades of Queensland sun, and there are newer estate homes with metal roofs and builder grade guttering. Tile roof restoration on the older homes

On the established side of the suburb, the most common job is a tile roof that has lost its surface. The tiles hold up well, but the factory coating chalks away, moss and lichen take hold on the shaded side, and the mortar under the ridge caps turns brittle and starts letting go. The summer storms are the other reliable source of Oxenford callouts. Wind lifts and cracks tiles, debris ends up in valleys and gutters, and rain that arrives faster than the drainage can carry it backs up and comes inside. If the gutters sag, sit at the wrong fall, are full of leaf litter, or simply do not have enough downpipes for the roof area feeding them, then water spills back under the roof edge and into the eaves and fascia. On older Oxenford homes we often find rust taking hold at the joins and at the back of the gutter where it has been holding water for years.
